Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced on Saturday that Iran is ready for another round of negotiations with the United States regarding its nuclear program, as he prepares to visit Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
In a press statement, Araghchi said:
"Iran has informed the Sultanate of Oman, which is mediating the negotiations, of its readiness to hold new talks on Sunday." Oman has not yet made any public comment regarding the potential new round of negotiations.
Araghchi added:
"Naturally, the more progress we make, the more consultations and reviews are required." He stressed that "it is important to proceed in a way that gradually leads us into the details."
He also noted that Iran has received "contradictory messages" from the United States, saying that "different individuals have expressed different viewpoints."
On Saturday morning, Araghchi traveled to Jeddah at the head of a diplomatic delegation to meet with senior Saudi officials and discuss bilateral issues as well as regional and international developments, according to Iran’s official news agency IRNA.
Later on Saturday evening, the Iranian Foreign Minister is scheduled to travel to Doha to participate in the Iran-Arab World Dialogue Summit.
